Ghost rowers made it - Against all Odds!
10:28 a.m. EST Mar 10, 2004
The Ghost Team arrived yesterday, and are staying at the Sugar Cane Club, courtesy of Jan Meek, herself an Ocean Rower.

The day before yesterday the parachute regiment aboard Carpe Diem passed the finish line from North Point, but were unable to row ashore because of the prevailing winds and currents.

Yesterday however, when Against All Odds arrived, the conditions were more favorable, and by hugging the shore to extreme (no more than fifty meters, often much less) they were able to row to Port St Charles unassisted. (More to follow later on the Oceanrowing.com site).

The Ocean rowing society is arranging the Atlantic Rowing Regatta 2004, with thirteen official teams rowing from Spain to Barbados.
Two of the rowers, Brett and Scott's sponsorship fell through when the government of Zimbabwe put a ban on foreign money. They couldn't pay for the boat or the Regatta entrance fee. But when the boat was delivered by a mistake, Brett and Scott painted "save Zimbabwe" all over it and left for Barbados outside the official race. Their boat "against all odds" took off with the speed of light and the crew came in at a third place, in spite of their later departure.
