Pavel Rezvoy, 65, tailgating top racers
12:57 p.m. EST Feb 13, 2004
There is no limit to age. And it is proved over and over right here at ExplorersWeb.

Ramon Blanco, recently became the oldest to summit the Seven Summits at age 70. The oldest Himalayan 8000+ climber is a 70+ Japanese female. Simon Murray just became the oldest person to ski to the South Pole at the age of 63 and last year Yuichiro Miura became the oldest person to summit Everest at the age of 70.

"Sensei Miura" not only summited Everest, but spent several days in camp 5 - also called the rescue camp and never used by climbers due to its dangerous altitude. Not only did Miura survive that and then summited, he also skied parts of the Lhotse wall on his way down!

The oceans have their own Grandpa heroes. Several of the double ocean rowers are clear seniors. And now the oldest participant in the Atlantic Rowing Regatta 2004, Pavel Rezvoy, is tailgating up to number six today in the fleet of thirteen official teams. Remember though that of the boats ahead of Pavel only one is another solo rower! The other four in the lead are either doubles or quartets. Check Pavel's position in the link.
